Martins Tank Campground
Preston Beach Rd North
127km from Perth
Level: Beginner (all amentities)
Ideal for those after a bush camping experience!
Situated less than 1 ½ hours from Perth, Martins Tank Campground is an ideal spot for those wanting a brief respite from city life but still having the convenience of being somewhat close to the metro area.
The campground is located within Yalgorup National Park and is a five-minute walk from Martins Tank Lake, which boasts beautiful scenery and wildlife.
It has 29 individual camp sites, suitable for tents, campervans and trailers, and four group sites suitable for tents and swags only which can accommodate up to 20 people.
Campsites are nestled in amongst peppermint and tuart trees, with thick vegetation and good spacing between sites.
This campground is great for both beginner and experienced campers alike – it offers clean and well-maintained amenities, including a sheltered camp kitchen (with gas barbeques, dishwashing sinks, dining tables and benches), open-air gas barbeques, two communal fire rings and multiple drop toilets located across the site. Most sites also come with tables and benches.
One thing to note – for many sites, a short walk is required from the car to your set-up. Parking is not allowed on certain sites (e.g. group sites) and you will need to park in designated carparks, which are about a two to three minute-walk to your site. A beach wagon/trolley will definitely come in handy!
